Today In Baidoa, a symposium was convened under the leadership of Mr. Abdullahi Haji Hassan, the Minister of the Ministry of Interior, Local Government, and Reconciliation of KGS. The symposium served as a forum for the government Officials and its international stabilization partners to collaboratively assess advancements, deliberate on learned experiences, and collectively chart a course to surmount the obstacles impacting security operations and stabilization initiatives in recently emancipated regions throughout the nation. This inclusive platform included representation from various entities and offices, such as the JFS President’s Office, Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Interior XFS, and others.
During the proceedings, the Director General of the Ministry of Interior in KGS, MR Mustaf Abdullahi Hassan underscored the imperative nature of conducting such symposia on a biannual basis. Baidoa District Governor, Abdullahi Ali Watin, emphasized the gravity of stability concerns within his jurisdiction.
Minister Hassan Abdulkadir Mohamed of the South West Government’s Internal Security addressed the second phase of the Eradication of Khawarilj campaign, set to commence in the Southwest.
Lastly, Minister Abdinasir Abdi Aroush from the South West Somalia government underscored the necessity of professionalizing the Stabilization Project.
In essence, the symposium’s primary objective was to establish a cooperative platform where the government of Somalia and its international stabilization partners could jointly evaluate progress, exchange insights from their experiences, and collectively devise strategies to address the challenges affecting security operations and stabilization programs in recently liberated areas across the country.
